This move hits the target anywhere from 2-5 times per use. There is a 37.5% chance that it will hit 2 or 3 times(respectively) and a 12.5% chance that it will hit 4 or 5 times (also respectively).
Each hit can potentially be critical. This move will continue if it breaks a Substitute before the duration of the move is over. If this move activates a Focus Band, Focus Sash or the Sturdy Ability before the duration is over, subsequent hits will cause the defending Pokémon to faint (the target will be protected from all hits of this move if it used Endure however). Focus Band can still activate repeatedly to prevent fainting, but each chance is independent of the previous one.
Each hit of this move may also trigger any abilities of the target that can be activated by non-contact Physical attacks (i.e. Weak_Armor. Bide, Counter, Metal Burst and the Life Orb will only acknowledge the last hit of this move.

In a triple battle, this move may target anyone facing or adjacent to the user.
